Port of Call: Montego Bay...

It’s a Wednesday or Thursday and you are about to disembark at the Montego Bay port. Have you made arrangements to maximize your time of enjoyment ashore? If you’ve never been to the Montego Bay port, you need to know just a few things.

First off: Transportation, to bring you around to various points of interest. You may just want to be picked up and dropped off somewhere to do sightseeing or just to go to the beach. Therefore, when shopping around for transportation, always do your research to find companies that are safe and reliable but offer reasonable transfer rates.

Now that you’ve thought about how you want to get around, what do you want to do when you get to Montego Bay? The beauty of docking in Montego Bay is that you may get to cover much more distance than you would if you were docked at the other ports. You may go to Negril, Falmouth in Trelawny or as far as Ocho Rios and still make it back in time to board your ship.

How about zip-lining, a tranopy or an ATV ride? Dunn’s River Falls, bamboo rafting, helicopter tours, sightseeing, Mystic Mountain, the Appleton Estate Rum tour, Rick’s CafĂ©, Margaritaville and many other attractions are available for you to enjoy while away from your floating hotel.

Don’t forget to sample some of the local cuisine. Jerk chicken at Scotchie’s with some roast yam should hit the right spot! If you get the chance, try cane juice and make sure you sample some coconut water in the husk otherwise called “jelly coconut."

Whatever you want to do while you are in Jamaica, we will be here to assist you.  Also, please leave feedback with us. We would like to know what would make your time ashore worthwhile!
